Festival des Essentiels 2026

From 1–9 August 2025, from Montreuil to Montmartre Gate to Bagnolet Gate to Montreuil Gate to Vincennes Gate and also Gennevilliers… families, young, not young at all, women, men and children discover shows and can experience new artistic disciplines.

The Festival des Essentiels is a cultural event open to everyone, both family-friendly, intergenerational, mixed, multicultural, itinerant and entirely free. It runs 1–9 August 2025 in Montreuil and Gennevilliers as well as Paris outskirts addressing a wide and diverse audience.

On this occasion, demanding yet accessible artistic programming is offered at neighbourhood hearts, aiming to promote encounter between audiences and works.

Artists from all over France, carefully selected for work quality and universe richness, come to meet residents providing a singular, festive and inclusive cultural experience.

C to collectively create the Festival des Essentiels great banner, games and La Rue Râle's outdoor library, plus an environmental awareness stand run by a neighbourhood association.

At 3:30pm Retouramont Company takes hold of city walls with « Vertical Environment  », a magnificent performance where two dancers' grace transforms architecture into spectacle venue.

At 4:00pm discover « The Fabric of our Dreams  » from AFAG company, an action-packed musical tale full of guitars, flutes and trumpets for children encouraging their own story invention.

From 4:30pm to 6:30pm Retouramont Company returns with « Hoist Emotion  », a unique experience where young and old discover their city from above hoisted by their own neighbours and friends.

At 5:00pm dance takes stage with Jeanne Chassin company's Hip hop show followed at 5:30pm with a workshop introducing yourself to Hip Hop dance. And to close this beautiful
