Born in London, England, on 4 June 1975, Julian Marley is the son of the reggae legend who needs no introduction: Bob Marley. Julian Marley grew up in a musical environment and was subsequently trained by the greatest in Jamaica, such as Aston "Family Man" Barrett, Carlton Barrett, Earl "Wire" Lindo, Tyrone Downie, and Earl "Chinna" Smith, to name but a few. His domain: roots reggae. Self-taught singer-songwriter, mastering bass, drums, guitar, and keyboards, Julian occupies a more significant place in the engaged musical movement than most reggae artists today.
In the same tradition as his father, Julian is a devout Rastafarian whose music is inspired by life and spirituality. And although Julian has built a formidable reputation by transcending musical genres, we can be certain that all of this visionary musician's future projects will remain spiritual, moral, and carriers of a universal mission.
