Le Dernier Soleil unfolds on the Wall of Names and in the crypt, an unprecedented exhibition conceived by artist Emmanuel Régent for the Mémorial, intertwining his practice and his aesthetic, which is at once conceptual, poetic, and parabolic, with the memory of genocide sites.
The exhibition, composed of drawings, large-format watercolours, and sculptural “interventions” (Drancy, Raïssa), draws on the symbolic depth of objects, the links between the ephemeral and the eternal, the wounds of History, and hope, questioning the unrepresentable and allowing for multiple interpretations.
