Sara Curruchich

Having become one of the most recognized and internationally engaged Guatemalan artists for the recognition of indigenous women and peoples, Sara Curruchich embodies a luminous and authentic force.

A charismatic singer, she takes her voice traveling between folk, rock, cumbia, reggae and kaqchikel Maya music, crossing borders like a song of resistance and hope, offering an intimate musical experience with her bewitching voice where the melodies of this Maya artist and magical harmonies will transport you to the heart of Maya indigenous culture.

On stage, in a quartet, she is accompanied by three talented female musicians.

the rhythm of the traditional Marimba accompanied by Sara's folk guitar, bass and drums, brings a style of playing and composing that recalls a certain 'Manu Chao' style or where she will make her first performances in Guatemala.

A dynamic style that impresses with its sonic power. You will find instruments such as reed flutes and beeswax flutes, as well as ocarinas, instruments embodying the memory and heritage of Maya culture.

Her latest album, 'Mujer Indígena', explores new sounds while conveying powerful messages, celebrating the dignity and struggles of indigenous women around the world.

This album includes collaborations with renowned artists such as Lila Downs, Nan Rosalina Tuyuc, Muerdo and Amparanoia Amparo Sánchez.
