Journées du patrimoine 2026 : au fonds patrimonial Heure Joyeuse

While the doors of the heritage collection are open all year round to researchers, the curious, and children alike, this year, on the occasion of the Heritage Days, come and discover some gems from our collection of youth photobooks, as part of the bicentennial of photography.

The Heure Joyeuse heritage collection preserves a collection of 3000 photo-illustrated children's books. Exhibited in 2012 at the galerie des bibliothèques, it will be showcased again in 2027 at the Médiathèque Françoise Sagan, in an exhibition dedicated to photographic picture books. For one weekend, two selections can be discovered continuously, Saturday and Sunday:

• at the Hôtel de Ville de Paris in the Salon Laurens, alongside other heritage and specialized libraries. The selection focuses on the notion of framing, with an international panorama. It testifies to the vitality of using photography as a means of educating the gaze on the world, whether it's the recognition of shapes, or blur, by renowned photographers such as Sarah Moon, Bogdan Konopka or Gérard Rondeau (Agence Vu').
• at the Médiathèque Françoise Sagan, on Saturday and Sunday from 1 PM to 6 PM, librarians will continuously present other gems from the collection of youth photobooks, including current editions, old editions, and artist's books.
