Maria W Horn and Mats Erlandsson deploy a long-standing collaboration around electronic music, electroacoustic pieces, recorded albums, four-hand pipe organ performances.

At the heart of their work nestles an interest in the psychological and historical imprints that places and objects retain, revealed through sound.

For this evening, the duo designs a musical architecture inviting the public to linger, circulate freely and be carried by subtle shifts in sonic colours merging amplified zither and electronic music.

A concert to be experienced as an extended listening experience, between contemplation, immersion and sensory drift — at golden hour on a summer's evening. Maria W Horn draws on synthetic sound, electroacoustic and acoustic instruments, as well as audiovisual components.

She designs generative and algorithmic processes to control timbre, tuning and texture. Her music explores sound's spectral properties and its ability to transcend time and space, reality and dream. Mats Erlandsson is fully part of Stockholm's drone music renewal.

His music slowly deploys carefully tuned harmonic landscapes that densify and open as they form. Alongside their joint work, Maria W Horn and Mats Erlandsson pursue individual practices and together direct the XKatedral label dedicated to experimental music.

Afternoon rehearsals will pave the way to a particular sound that will carry the garden through to the evening concert.
