MORBID MONKE (10:30pm) (Dance post punk - Bali, IDN) Morbid Monke is a dance/post-punk band from Denpasar, Bali. The idea germinated on 9 December 2023, and in early 2024, the band officially took shape under the name Morbid Monke.

Morbid Monke's post-punk style brings a fresh touch to the genre by combining elements of dance groove and psychedelic noise. Their lyrics dive into personal life journeys, expressed through a mix of explicit language, analogies, satire and playful behavior.

Not for the faint of heart. Not meant for ordinary ears, nor suited to them. Too weird to live, too rare to die. It's one of the archetypes considered unfit for mass production, especially among Bali's punk scene groups.

Five monkeys with twisted grooves in joints fueled by Viagra, dancing frantically, jumping like a pack of sick mutants choking on abstract notes.

It seems tribal, but ultimately contemporary thanks to strange art/post-punk composition mixing exploratory pseudo-jazz trumpet experiments, psychedelic dissonances in the form of sneaky guitar riffs and voices that sound like delirious chanting.

There's never been a combo like this one. With a new lineup featuring singer Karisma Kele, guitarist Krisna Dwipayana, bassist Deoka, trumpeter Dewok and drummer Gerby, Morbid Monke gives birth to the strangest form of wild punk rocker in a carnival disco vibe.
