The 2026 farewell tour marks the last opportunity for fans to discover this iconic group in concert and celebrate one of the most influential and adventurous ensembles in modern jazz.

Each performance will be a journey through their entire career, honouring the music, spirit, and innovation that have defined The Bad Plus since their formation. Since their 2000 debut, The Bad Plus have pushed the boundaries of what jazz music could and should be.

From their early days, their indelible compositions coexisted with an unconventional range of covers outside the strictly monitored jazz circle: from Ornette Coleman to Black Sabbath to Aphex Twin, from Cole Porter to the Pixies to Nirvana.

Their eclecticism has often been misinterpreted as sarcasm, when it was actually a means of reaching an expression inaccessible by other routes - something entirely in keeping with the boldness of the true jazz tradition.

Their now legendary 2003 album, These Are Vistas, was named among the 50 most important recordings of the decade by NPR's All Songs Considered, and now at their 18th album, the group continues to create wild and unexpected music, with a refusal to conform to conventions.
