Les grandes personnes The author and engraver offers us a history of costume across the world and through different eras.
Created using linocut and coloured with gouache, the plates in this beautiful book are full of everything that has been invented to dress, adorn, play sports, work, style hair or wear shoes… You will also discover the undergarments of a princess, a samurai, an Inuit… Joëlle Jolivet is a French illustrator internationally renowned for her numerous children's books and her collaborations with the press.
She is as interested in images as she is in typography. She doesn't hide the fact that lino sticks to her skin, like a label she finds so hard to shake off, for the pleasure of the eyes.
