This page gathers the exhibitions that opened less than a month ago, the most recent first — the only list on this site whose order is reversed, since every other one ranks by closing date.

The advantage of coming early is almost entirely practical. The price does not change with the period, and neither does the display; what changes is the number of people in front of each label and the availability of timed slots. At the large institutions, the first weeks still allow booking for the next day, and sometimes walking in on a weekday. One point to watch, though: some exhibitions open before everything is installed, or only start their guided visits and associated programme in the second month — the venue’s site says so.
