Henry Taylor. Where thoughts provoke
From April 8th to September 6th, 2026
The Musée national Picasso-Paris will present an exhibition dedicated to Henry Taylor, one of the major figures in contemporary American painting. This exhibition, conceived with the artist himself, will encompass his entire artistic trajectory while continuing the exploration of Pablo Picasso's reception on the American scene — following exhibitions dedicated to Faith Ringgold (2023), Jackson Pollock (2024) or Philip Guston (2025), and before the major retrospective dedicated to the Harlem Renaissance movement (spring 2027).
The exhibition, spread over two floors and thirteen rooms, brings together around a hundred works — paintings, sculptures, installations — through which Henry Taylor explores the richness and complexity of the human experience. Whether they are friends, relatives, anonymous people or public figures, his compositions offer a vivid and deeply human vision of our time. Taylor creates an original, expressive, and plastically powerful body of work - he weaves visual narratives that blend individual trajectories and collective realities, associating personal experiences, shared memory, and dialogues with art history. His reinterpretations of inspiring artworks, notably those by David Hammons, Philip Guston or Pablo Picasso, show how Taylor seizes the past to reinvent the present. Henry Taylor has been the subject of numerous exhibitions in the United States and abroad, including a large retrospective at the Museu
