Enoch Arden at Théâtre National de Nice - Salle des Franciscains (06300 Nice), on Friday 9 October 2026 at 20:00.
Checked on 7 October 2026.
Overview
In order to provide for his family, Enoch goes back to sea with his former captain. The ship is shipwrecked and he is reported missing for ten years. When he finally manages to return to his native land, he learns that Annie has remarried Philipp. Enoch will only reveal his identity on his deathbed...
The moving story of this sailor presumed dead inspired Richard Strauss to write magnificent, sober and effective music. The Duo Hands, formed by pianists Alexandra Roshchina and Alain Jacquon, teams up with actor Hervé Van der Meulen to offer an adaptation for narrator and four-hand piano, bringing Alfred Tennyson's poem to life.
Featuring Hervé Van der Meulen and musicians Alain Jacquon and Alexandra Roshchina - Duo Hands [piano].
