Gaîté l'été

From June 30 to August 2, we spend our lives on the terrace at La Gaîté Lyrique! DJ sets, workshops, living discovery, dance workshops, bar and food offerings, ... We settle on the terrace and let things happen.

There's something like a summer vibe, isn't there? Full program! In July, no need to leave Paris to feel vacation arriving: just follow the birdsong from Émile Chautemps square to the La Gaîté Lyrique terrace, and let things happen.

The sun shines gently, the trees filter the light. Next to it, things are happening. People hurry from the terrace to the square, from the square to the terrace, hands full of leaves and branches, which will be used during the screen printing poster workshop.

In the shade of the trees, the air is warm, the fountain water like a mister, summer is well-established, and the first sip of fresh drink finally arrives. Your poster dries in the sun. Next time, you'd try the perreo, or drag bingo. Then comes the golden hour.

Everyone is there, in front of the Gaîté: teenagers, neighborhood residents, regulars, curious passersby, even tired tourists having walked the Sentier streets. The terrace fills up, timid conversations finally intertwine, people get up.

Chairs that bother us slide, immediately grabbed by hands already clutching nachos dripping with cheddar. Soon, you can only make out silhouettes dancing. The moon appears without warning. You came for "just five minutes" and end up staying all evening.
