Originally from Georgia, Jontavious Willis grew up singing gospel at church with his grandfather before having a revelation at age 14 when he discovered Muddy Waters.
He then dedicates all his energy to blues, as a successor to the great pioneers, aware of this timeless heritage (his "Blues Project", visible on his website, highlights blues "veterans" through interviews and other improvised jam sessions).
Multi-instrumentalist and singer, this fine connoisseur of blues history is a remarkable guitarist, with inspired and controlled playing, who navigates with ease between all types of blues: Delta, Piedmont, Texas...
With already three albums to his credit - "Blue Metamorphosis" (2016) and "Spectacular Class" (2019), "West Georgia Blues" (2024) - the young man has won over audiences, critics and the great names of blues who quickly endorsed him, such as Taj Mahal and Keb Mo' or Eric Bibb.
