She first made her name in the Odd Future collective before striking out on her own, bringing rare freshness to the R&B scene. Syd will be in concert next Saturday 5 September at La Cigale and will defend on a European tour her brand new album Beard, scheduled for July 17th!

Known with the Odd Future collective featuring Frank Ocean and Tyler, The Creator, Syd began her solo career in 2017 with a debut album titled Fin. With rare freshness on the R&B scene.

Later rewarded at the GRAMMY Awards, she has just announced her next album Beard with the release of a new single, 'Callin' ' in a feature with Blu June. This third album will be released on July 17 and will include the flagship title 'Anytime' in a feature with James Fauntleroy.

For Syd, Beard represents a coming of age. It's a snapshot of her current life. 'This album marks a real stage of maturity for me. It's a photograph of what my life looks like today.

The title was inspired by the down on my upper lip, something society has always taught me to hate. I fell in love with that down, and it pushed me to question everything that was supposed to make me feel self-conscious.

It allowed me to regain my confidence, to fully embrace who I am and everything I love about myself, regardless of what others think. The title also represents how I perceive myself in relation to my peers, particularly in music.

' Not really a sideshow phenomenon in my case, but rather an anomaly, someone apart. Hard to compare. And I own that too. '
