About — The artist
Eric Clapton, born 30 March 1945 in Ripley (Surrey, England), is a British guitarist, singer, and singer-songwriter, of blues rock. In 2011, in its ranking "the 100 greatest guitarists of all time", the monthly magazine Rolling Stone placed him in second position, just behind Jimi Hendrix.
He is the only artist to have been inducted three times into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: once as a solo artist, then as a member of the Yardbirds and Cream.
