The Pineapple Thief is een Britse progressieve rockband uit Somerset, Engeland. De band werd in 1999 opgericht door Bruce Soord. Haar muziekstijl ligt tussen progressieve rock en alternatieve rock in. Net als Steven Wilson en groepen als Blackfield, Porcupine Tree of Archive brengt de band een resoluut nieuw geluid en een zeer actuele progressieve benadering, soms zelfs met elektro-invloeden.
