From 16 September to 15 October 2026, 100 000 ans d’histoire dans la vallée de la Bruche et le piémont des Vosges. plays at Musée de la Chartreuse (67120 Molsheim).
Checked on 14 October 2026.
Overview
Forty years of excavations and research in the Molsheim region shed new light on the first inhabitants of our territory, through the thousands of objects discovered at some 500 archaeological sites recorded within a 15-kilometre radius.
The three major chronological periods (Prehistory, Protohistory and the Roman era) are illustrated by characteristic objects. Visitors will be able to see, among other things, animal bones, stone tools first knapped then polished (for Prehistory), and bronze objects and jewellery from burials (for Protohistory). For the Roman period, terra sigillata pottery and fragments of amphorae bear witness to the economic exchanges between this region and other parts of the Roman Empire.
Guided tours for groups and schools are available by appointment; enquire with the museum. Access to the exhibition is included in the museum entrance ticket.
