The 'Passions Collections' display asserts the essential role of a museum: that of a living space, regularly enriched with works from different eras and mediums.

[Display] ' Passions Collections. 10 ans d’acquisitions du MusBA (2015-2025) 'The Musée des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux unveils Passions Collections, a unique display highlighting ten years of acquisitions.

This trail invites visitors to discover how a public collection grows and transforms over the course of a decade through artistic, cultural and heritage choices.

Founded in 1801, the MusBA currently preserves over 8,400 works - paintings, sculptures, drawings and prints - tracing the history of European art from the 15th to the 20th century.

Through Passions Collections, the museum presents a selection of significant works acquired between 2015 and 2025 through purchases, gifts or bequests, illustrating the diversity of mediums and periods represented.

It thereby honours the museum's main acquisition focuses: artistic life in Bordeaux from the 18th to the 20th century, French art and European schools from the 17th to the 20th century, female artists and contemporary artists.

Each acquisition complements or re-examines existing holdings, bearing witness to a renewed and living vision of the collections.

The museum expresses its profound gratitude to the Bordeaux art historian and collector Robert Coustet (who passed away in 2019), to the Société des Amis du musée des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux, as well as to all generous donors and testators.
