Après la Chute - Pietragalla - Derouault

AFTER THE FALL A creation by the Théâtre du Corps Pietragalla-Derouault Choreography and staging Marie-Claude Pietragalla and Julien DEROUAULT For 8 dancers Set to Beethoven's Symphony No.7 and

7 and Ravel's BoléroDuration 70 min With Après la Chute, Marie-Claude Pietragalla and Julien Derouault sign a choreographic fresco on human resilience, a journey from chaos towards the light. 7 opens the piece on the collapse of the world.

Its tragic pulse becomes the breath of a humanity thrown off balance, confronted with loss, the crumbling of certainties, the breakdown of its bearings.

The dancers' movement, trembling and convulsive, expresses the tension between struggle and surrender — the beauty of defeat, the poetry of disaster. Then comes Ravel's Boléro: an insistent, repetitive rhythm, carrying new momentum. This is the rebuilding of the world.

The dancers reinvent their gestures, rebuild their bonds, redefine their humanity. This rebirth draws on Albert Camus's Myth of Sisyphus: accepting the absurdity of the human condition and finding, in the effort itself, a form of greatness.

Between collapse and rebirth, Après la Chute offers a sensory and philosophical experience, where music and movement come together to tell of humanity's inexhaustible capacity to rise again.
