Bertrand Belin, Tournée

et L-R-24-3454 (L3))It begins with a bridge. Or a footbridge, for the more timid among us. From the shore of « La Comédie  », the ultra-existential denouement of Tambour Vision, to that of « L’Inconnu en personne  », cultivating a synthetic inner life that only asks to be shared.

A « state of our coexistences  » that refuses hasty judgements. The tempo quickens, the strings rise with grace. And Bertrand Belin's timbre resonates like no other.

Since the release of Tambour Vision in 2022, he has been seen in two films: Le Roman de Jim by the Larrieu brothers (with whom he had already worked on Tralala) and L’Amour et les forêts, by Valérie Donzelli.

He has also appeared on stage in « En travers de sa gorge  » by Marc Lainé. And then he wrote a new book, La Figure.

In it, running like a thread beneath the surface, he comments on the theatre of his origins, accompanied by a rather peculiar alter ego, a Dantesque guide, an inner voice that has become a companion at every moment.

Once again, the scansion of his verbal style stands out, as does his fondness for circular structure. These qualities resurface in Watt.

Bertrand Belin still works with a malleable material, a deliberately wayward pop lying between rock and chanson, shot through with jazz and blues, and haunted by a question that fascinates him, just as it fascinates all of us, moreover: verticality.
