Concert : Danièl Frouvelle

An unusual concert blending traditional music, experimental creations and poetic storytelling.

On Friday 23 October at 8:30 pm, Café culturel "La Grange" welcomes the musician Danièl Frouvelle for an unusual concert, blending traditional Occitan music with the artist's own creations.

For more than 40 years, Danièl Frouvelle has divided his life between singing, poetry, music and lutherie. He describes himself as a "builder", inventing and making many instruments himself.

In his solo concert "Tamborn de pluèja" ("Rain Drums"), the artist takes us into a sensitive and joyful musical world in which the hurdy-gurdy occupies a central place, surrounded by many other unusual instruments.

What emerges is a strong impression of power fuelled by the voice and the rugged accents of the Occitan language.

A reflection of many years of militant practice of the region's traditional music, Danièl Frouvelle invites us to a generous moment of sharing and invention, mixing traditional music, experimental creations and poetic storytelling.
