Conférence-débat « Reconnaître l’informel par les open badges »

To mark the publication of the 66th issue of the Cahiers de l’Action – "Reconnaître l’informel par les open badges", the French National Institute for Youth and Popular Education (Injep) is organizing a conference-debate on the recognition of experience and practices within the voluntary sector. Join us on 8 October from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Fondation Maison des sciences de l’Homme.

Learning is not limited to classrooms or diplomas. How can we make the know-how and skills developed in informal settings, such as voluntary work or collective projects, visible?

This is the core question addressed in the latest issue of the Cahiers de l’Action, which explores the use of open badges (digital micro-certifications) as a tool for recognizing informal learning.

These badges provide a way to value practices, professional stances, and experiences lived and shared within collectives, following an approach known as "open recognition".

On 8 October 2026, researchers, professionals, and field practitioners will share their insights and experiences around a shared issue: How to value what we learn in a collective setting?

The conference-debate will be moderated by Emmanuel Porte, director of the Cahiers de l’Action collection and study and research officer at the Injep.
