Dena - Las Vegas, Tournée

Presented by the Spotlight L-R-2020-004472/009234, Las Vegas is a show based on the quote: “Life is not a matter of holding good cards, but of playing a poor hand well.”

” In life, the question is not whether you hold the right cards, but whether you play a bad hand well. Faced with the racism, sexism and homophobia she may encounter, Dena manages to turn these painful experiences into positive ones thanks to her resilience and humour.

She thus succeeds in converting hurtful remarks into iconic punchlines. Being a lesbian and Iranian remains as subversive as ever in our society. Yet Dena today, more than ever, makes it her greatest strength.

If, in her first show, “Dena, Princesse Guerrière”, she waged a war for freedom, in “Las Vegas” the comedian pursues a peaceful quest.

Through clever, precise sleight of hand and nuanced observations, Dena even convinces her antagonists that they have more in common with her than ignorance might suggest.
