Overview
Art for art's sake holds no interest for 1011. Their work tackles head-on the question that modern history and technology pose to the people of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, in order to depict its most chaotic consequences under the guise of beauty.
1011 practises coloured pencil drawing and seeks through their art to denounce the loss of biodiversity. In the spirit of the 18th-century naturalist plates, their drawings evoke a tragic contemporary reality: the inexorable disappearance of the living world.
1011 uses coloured pencil drawing to raise alarm about the erosion of biodiversity. Inspired by the naturalist plates of the 18th century, their works reveal, beneath an apparent beauty, the gradual and tragic disappearance of living things.
