Discover the architectural dimension of John Howe's universe. The artist has imagined and drawn many castles and fortresses that populate the tales of medieval fantasy. Presented as a "pop-up" trail designed specially for the exhibition, the works are reproduced in large format and immerse visitors in these fantastical architectures. This selection brings together creations from his work on The Lord of the Rings, as well as a set devoted to the Notre-Dame cathedral in Strasbourg, long regarded as the tallest building in the world.

For more than 4 months, discover John Howe's art through an unprecedented trail devised across the region. An artist of international renown, John Howe has notably helped shape the aesthetic of the Peter Jackson film trilogies The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, bringing to life the world of J. R. R. Tolkien. Nearly 150 works, spread across four venues - La Baule, Guérande, Herbignac, Batz-sur-Mer - take you on a unique journey through legends, fantastical worlds and medieval imagery.
