Exposition Mina H. contre Dracula

Dracula, Bram Stoker's Dracula, arrives in the modern Western world at the turn of the twentieth century, at the same time as cinema, psychoanalysis and shorthand make their appearance. In 1982, seizing on this coincidence, the German media theorist Friedrich Kittler published, as the opening piece of Gramophone, Film, Typewriter, "Dracula's Testament", a text so brilliant that it almost seems hallucinated. It was the encounter with this text that gave birth to "Mina H. contre Dracula", an artist's book by Olivier Deprez and Florence Pazzottu, whose project won the Arcane 2023 grant and which is at the heart of this exhibition, where it is presented for the first time.
