Exposition "Mosaïque d'atelier"

To mark its twentieth anniversary, the Groupe d'Entraide Mutuelle (GEM) Connexion Plus exhibits the creations of its members.

Within our association, GEM Connexion Plus, the drawing and watercolour workshop was set up many years ago to respond to the creative impulse of its members. Every Monday, it brings together five to ten people at the GEM's address, 9 rue Saint Germain l'Auxerrois, just behind the Théâtre du Châtelet. Brushes, pastels, pencils, erasers, etc., are at work in the hands of the artists in a lively, warm, and benevolent atmosphere. Portraits, still lifes, and landscapes are created, based on photographs of famous or lesser-known works, suggestions from members and the facilitator, appealing to the participants' imagination. The results hold pleasant surprises, thanks to the talent of some and the inventive capacities of all, most often expressed in a shimmering array of colours and multiple forms. Long guided by professional artists, many members have gained expertise. Some exhibit and sell their works. Today, the Connexion Plus workshop has acquired a certain confidence in its talent. To mark the GEM's 20th anniversary, we are presenting about thirty works in an exhibition held on the walls of the Maison de la Vie Associative et Citoyenne in the 14th arrondissement. We hope that the works presented will attract many of you and that you will like them a little, a lot, passionately, or even madly…
