Exposition photographique "A fleurs de Maux" Par Nathalie Kaïd

As part of Pink October, ChapitÔ is showcasing a photographic exhibition on artistic tattooing relating to breast reconstruction.

Photographic portraits by Nathalie Kaïd, for the association Sœurs d'Encre by RoseTattoo The association Sœurs d'Encre supports women affected by breast cancer or chronic illness, physically through artistic reconstructive tattooing and psychologically through social and professional reintegration by fostering self-confidence and self-esteem.

Artistic reconstructive tattooing must be recognised as an alternative or complement to traditional forms of surgical reconstruction, in conjunction with the medical community. In 2025, more than 2,250 women were supported in their reconstruction thanks to 21 tattoo artists.

It was while working on artistic projects that Nathalie Kaïd, visual artist, photographer and founder of the association, became interested in the benefits of post-breast cancer tattooing.

Nathalie Kaïd, a tattooed woman, photographer and Founder of the Sœurs d'Encre association, explores the territories of emotion, the body and memory.

She has been highlighting the female body for 44 years and for the past 15 years has devoted herself to testimonial photographs to recount the life journeys of women. The body and femininity are her sources of inspiration.

With the "À fleur de Maux" testimonial photo project, she offers a committed emotional journey, where vulnerability becomes strength and the gaze becomes a restorative gesture.

This exhibition was produced in partnership with the City of Bordeaux - the Solidarity and Citizenship Directorate and the Health Promotion and Prevention Directorate.
