What if we showed you what never appears in reports?

Alice Moritz and Nesrine Cherifati (Nesali média) spent three months in northern Kurdistan to document the Kurdish question. They investigated, filmed, and wrote. But behind every documentary lie hundreds of hours in the field, nights spent with locals, spontaneous discussions, ordinary moments for those who live them, but which became precious in their journey.

Bîranîn ("memory" in Kurdish) offers a different perspective: that of behind the scenes. Through photographs, cartography, and documentaries, this exhibition brings together the invisible traces of journalistic work: the encounters, the bonds that are built, the observations that shape the understanding of a territory. A tribute to the human dimension of a reportage, recontextualised within the complex sociopolitical reality of the region.

Dance performance by Juan-Golan Elibeg

Kurdish dancer, actor, and activist who embodies resistance and life
