Opening night of the Bîranîn exhibition: Behind the scenes of a reportage in Kurdistan

What if we showed you what never appears in reportages? Alice Moritz and Nesrine Cherifati (Nesali média) spent three months in northern Kurdistan documenting the Kurdish question. They investigated, filmed and wrote. But behind every documentary lie hundreds of hours of fieldwork, nights spent with local families, spontaneous conversations and ordinary moments that mean little to those who live them but become precious along the journey.

Bîranîn ("memory" in Kurdish) offers a different perspective: that of the behind-the-scenes. Through photographs, maps and documentaries, this exhibition brings together the invisible traces of journalistic work: the encounters, the bonds that form, and the observations that shape an understanding of a territory. A tribute to the human side of a reportage, set against the complex sociopolitical reality of the region.
