Exposition Plantu - "Drôle de peuple" - proposée par l'association Roncq Delbrück

For nearly 50 years, Plantu sketched daily current affairs for the newspaper Le Monde.

It was on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Élysée Treaty in 2013 that this exhibition of caricatures was organised.

A true French institution, Plantu, through his way of combining a constantly alert critical sense with a remarkable capacity for empathy, encourages us to reflect, to react and frees us through laughter from clichés about our neighbours across the Rhine.

Published at the end of 2011 by Éditions Schaltzeit Verlag in Berlin, the book "DRÔLE DE PEUPLE ! " traces the history of the Franco-German couple since the 1970s, a period during which Plantu's pen stroke became softer and more colourful.

Despite his sometimes provocative caricatures, Plantu has always maintained a benevolent view of the building of the Franco-German relationship, in which he participates in a creative and personal way through drawing.

Plantu, through caricature, builds a warm bridge that, across the Rhine, connects the French and the Germans. Exhibition presented by the Roncq-Delbrück association as part of its 35th anniversary, in partnership with URAFA Hauts-de-France pour l'Europe.
