Exposition Profondeur de champ

The exhibition Profondeur de champ takes the landscape as an artistic genre in its own right, through various styles and techniques that deliberately blur aesthetic boundaries – drawings resembling photographs enter into dialogue with photographs that look like engravings.

Based on the work of artist and photographer Raphaëlle Peria, drawn plates resonate with other works: the body-landscapes of Juliette Mancini, the social landscape of Margaux Meissonnier, the threatened landscapes of Clément Vuillier, and the delicate explorations of Fanny Dreyer.

Depending on where and who perceives them, landscapes turn out to be alternately threatening and threatened, the survival of the past and the vestiges of what has disappeared.

Far from being vast spaces passive in the face of human activities, landscapes have a real capacity to act upon us and within us.

The exhibition thus reflects the way in which landscapes affect and shape us just as much as we participate in shaping them, bearing witness to humanity's complex relationship with its environment.
