The Musée de l’Aurignacien is partnering with Inrap to present a photographic exhibition dedicated to the professions of archaeology.
" Archéologie préventive, photographies d'un métier " The Musée de l’Aurignacien is partnering with the Institut National de Recherche en Archéologie Préventive to present a temporary exhibition dedicated to the professions of archaeology from Saturday 4 April to Thursday 31 December 2026.
Through a series of photographs, the exhibition highlights the diversity of archaeological professions, their technical specificities and the variety of intervention contexts.
This open-air exhibition invites visitors to discover the journeys of men and women working across various time periods and intervening in all four corners of France, sometimes very close to home!
Indeed, the Occitanie and Haute-Garonne region has yielded numerous archaeological remains. An ideal opportunity to discover, between preconceived ideas and field realities, whether the paintbrush, shovel and pickaxe are truly the essential tools of the archaeologist!
