Overview
LA NUIT DU JAZZ A NANTES FETE LE POP IN JAZZ!
This exceptional evening is the ultimate blend of the prestige of a gala night and the conviviality of a jazz club. Made up of a two-part concert, the evening continues – for those spectators who wish – with an Open Jazz Club (a big Jam Session), transformed for the occasion into a jazz club.
The programme for this exceptional concert, which celebrates the festival's 26th anniversary, features explosive jazz with the Côte Ouest Big Band led by Jean-Philippe Vidal and his international guests: the singers Jessica Flores, Elisa Palazzi, Veronika Rodriguez, and the singers Malik Hemaidi and Kevin Double.
LE COTE OUEST BIG BAND
Dinner suits and black bow ties, brilliantined hair and a carnation in the buttonhole, the 17 musicians of Jean-Philippe Vidal's Côte Ouest Big Band roll out the red carpet for great voices and jazz musicians. Curtis Mayfield... Ray Charles... Barry White... Isaac Hayes... Aretha Franklin... Quincy Jones... Marvin Gaye... Al Green... Otis Redding... Al Jarreau... Ray Charles, Michael Jackson...
The rise of the big bands, infectious rhythms and the Swing era did not merely popularise jazz; they also served as a precursor to the birth of pop music, paving the way for the cultural revolution to come.
