François Staal : Sur les ailes de Baudelaire

A show by François Staal, film music composer, singer-songwriter, poet and novelist, built around the work of Charles Baudelaire, presented at La Péniche Antipode in Paris.

This show takes its title, Sur les ailes de Baudelaire, as its starting point, and brings together around the poetry of Charles Baudelaire the work of François Staal. Born in 1961 in Rouen, François Staal works at once as a film music composer, as a singer-songwriter, and also writes poems and novels. These different practices come together in a piece where music and poetic speech intersect on stage.

The register belongs to musical and literary creation, drawing on a major poet of the nineteenth century. The show follows in the tradition of encounters between chanson d'auteur and poetry, and speaks to audiences attentive to language and to texts set to music.

La Péniche Antipode is a concert and show venue located in Paris, in the 19th arrondissement. It hosts musical and stage proposals of many kinds, and this show is staged there within that setting.
