Overview
Tribute to the great lady of letters, in love with freedom, whose 150th anniversary of her passing we are commemorating
An essential figure in French literature, George Sand left her mark on her era through the power of her work, her independence, and her commitments.
She shook up the codes of her time in the name of freedom and equality, championing her republican, feminist, and humanist convictions. To this day, she continues to inspire us.
This lecture-reading offers a chronological journey through selected moments -among so many others-, bearing witness to her extraordinary life.
Passages from Histoire de ma vie and various correspondences punctuate the event; short excerpts from Indiana, Lélia, and Elle et Lui will be read.
