Overview
Halfway between dance and theatre, this piece traces the epic of hip-hop, from the bustling streets of 1970s New York to today's international stages. As a funny and lively lecturer, Séverine Bidaud cites the leading hip-hop dancers who influenced her own artistic journey.
These mythical figures, judiciously chosen, allow her to trace the origins of the hip-hop movement, its roots and its influences, drawing on a selection of archive images.
Approached through anecdote and technique, this history of hip-hop dance is above all a tribute to those who trained generations of dancers and who continue to develop the practice.
This exuberant testimony from a pioneer of hip-hop culture in France offers you an immersive vision of the adventure of a movement that is both festive and committed.
A vitaminised and offbeat performance, performed by five dancers on stage, each a specialist in one hip-hop style, for a contagious smile and a generous dose of guaranteed emotion.
