Overview
From Nairobi to Newark, Kool & the Gang have been performing continuously for longer than any other R&B group in history. Their irresistible funk and jazzy arrangements have also made them the most sampled R&B group of all time.
Every year, even after half a century on the road, is marked by a non-stop schedule of concerts around the world.
Thanks to landmark songs such as "Celebration", "Cherish", "Jungle Boogie", "Summer Madness" and "Open Sesame", they have won several awards, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in June 2018 and, more recently, into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, class of 2024.
Today, the band enjoys worldwide fame and recognition, as well as an audience that spans generations, partly thanks to a catalogue that is very often sampled.
Their music resonates everywhere, from film soundtracks to television adverts, notably in "Rocky", "Saturday Night Fever", "Pulp Fiction", "Wreck-It Ralph" and many more.
