Classical ballet
Music: Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
Choreography: Marius Petipa
Swan Lake was first presented in Moscow in 1877. The story of a prince's love for a young woman, transformed into a swan by a sorcerer, is a fantastical subject in which the principal dancer has a dual role to play and dance: Odette, the white swan, lyrical and poetic, and Odile, the black swan, malevolent and fatal. Swan Lake is among the most famous ballets in the world and the most performed in theatres. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's music transports the audience into a poetic universe, a universe of grace, elegance and infinite beauty. The splendour of the sets and costumes, and the aesthetics and poetry of classical dance, performed with brilliance and elegance, make this show a true gem! Not to be missed!
