Overview
Marc Bloch and Commitment evening: Staged reading, songs, debate
On 16 June 1944, at nightfall, 30 prisoners were taken from their cells at the Montluc prison and loaded, handcuffed, into a covered van. After an hour's drive, they were led down in groups of four into a field and shot immediately in the back.
On 23 June 2026, one of them, the historian Marc Bloch, enters the Panthéon. Like Jean Moulin, he enters "with the People born in the shadows and vanished with him" (Malraux).
With the participation of: NICOLAS OFFENSTADT, historian, professor of history at the Sorbonne, JEAN-LOUIS ROBERT, historian, professor emeritus, PALOMA SAUSSET, singer, CAROLE TRÉBOR, author, Marc Bloch, Non au déni de l'histoire, Actes sud Jeunesse, 2026.
