Over the centuries, the Palais Rohan has played many roles: archbishop's residence, revolutionary tribunal, seat of the département and prefecture. Since 1836, it has been Bordeaux's Hôtel de Ville.
Behind its Louis XVI façade lie the grand staircase, the former salons and the municipal council chamber, completed in 1889 in the style of the Third Republic.
