For Paris Design Week, the Musée Bourdelle presents the installation Contrepoint by French designer Anthony Guerrée, from 8 to 27 September 2026, within part of its permanent collections.
With Contrepoint, Anthony Guerrée brings sculpture and design into dialogue in the manner of a musical counterpoint. Within the Musée Bourdelle, the sculptures already form a silent score, made up of presences, voids and tensions.
Anthony Guerrée introduces new forms, in wood, glass, textile and clay, which engage with this existing work without ever imposing themselves. Contrepoint offers an immersion into the creative process of a contemporary designer.
The installation explores the possible connections between sculpture and design, setting different material and formal research by Anthony Guerrée against Bourdelle's own visual world.
His creations enter into a subtle dialogue with Bourdelle's forms, rhythms and relationship to matter. Contrepoint offers a reading of design as a sculptural practice. The objects appear here in various forms: fragments, moulds, prototypes, finished pieces.
Visitors are thus invited to step into a space of research, where materials, forms and gestures engage in dialogue with the spirit of the place.
