Overview
Pianist Peyman Yazdanian and Adib Rostami join forces for a cine-concert around the work Grass.
Peyman Yazdanian is an Iranian pianist and composer born in Tehran, whose musical journey is notably marked by his debut album released in 2001, entitled Themes, as well as numerous compositions for cinema. On stage, he collaborates with Adib Rostami to perform live the original soundtrack of the film Grass, a pioneering silent documentary directed in 1925 by Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack, which documents the annual transhumance of a nomadic tribe in Persia.
This bill brings together acoustic and traditional sounds within the setting of the Théâtre le Ranelagh. The concert highlights the fusion between contemporary piano and Persian instruments, creating an attentive and contemplative listening experience for audiences who love film scores, instrumental pieces, and silent cinematography.
