Overview
Photographic exhibition by Louis Chatenet
Portraits de familles Bastidiennes: photographic exhibition by Louis Chatenet. Opening night on Thursday 10 September at 5 PM, accompanied by a large-format camera demonstration.
In 2024, photographer Louis Chatenet and the Calixte Coeur de Bastide association set up a project which consisted of photographing families from the Bastide district during festive events.
The aim was to encourage families from the various sub-districts to meet during future exhibitions of these photographs. Since late 2024, three exhibitions have already taken place, bringing together large audiences from the neighbourhood.
These portraits were taken using a large-format camera. Immediately after shooting, the photos were developed using an analog process in front of people inside a "black box" (caisse noire).
Each family received an enlargement of their photograph during the opening of one of the exhibitions held at the Benauge community centre. The City of Bordeaux and Aquitanis have supported this project. For further information, speak to your librarians or call 05 56 86 15 28
