What if revisiting our childhood tales allowed us to contemplate complex subjects that we struggle to address, even when we mean well?

Le Petit Chaperon Rouge ou la faim du silence aims to create a space for meaning and exchange to gently and clearly discuss sexual violence against children.

Through music and puppet theatre, we follow the short journey of Little Red Riding Hood, a bold and joyful child, plunged into a cruel story. The writing is inspired by Charles Perrault's text.

Two multidisciplinary artists (Haciba Boucena and Hélène Poulain) revisit the story from the perspective of Little Red Riding Hood. They borrow codes from physical theatre and shadow theatre within a pop, stylised scenography.

The soundscape is built live using real or repurposed instruments such as the electric oud, bird calls, percussion, and everyday objects. The performance is followed by a participatory discussion at a child's level, led by the actresses.

It allows for the discussion of essential concepts to give both children and adults the tools to understand the mechanisms of this type of violence, to indicate resource people and structures, and to know what reflexes to adopt when a secret turns into poison.
