Overview
"TANGO PASSION", the new show by ASTORIA NUEVO, a variable-geometry ensemble whose members all graduated from Royal Conservatoires and have won international competitions. ASTORIA NUEVO manages to impose its identity through the energy, rigour and emotion that emanate from its performance.
For more than two decades, ASTORIA NUEVO has offered you various artistic interpretations centred on the undisputed master of Argentine tango, Astor Piazzolla. In 2026 the ensemble raises the bar even higher with a new Piazzollesque show, TANGO PASSION. Emotions, passion, frenzied rhythms, tradition, new sonorities, contemporary choreographies, modernity, pleasure.
Astor Piazzolla's "tango nuevo" is influenced by traditional tango, jazz improvisation, polyrhythm, daring harmonies, and "serious" music under the influence of Bach, Ravel, Stravinsky and Bartók.
