Un siècle d'architecture en France Photographic exhibition of buildings labelled "Contemporary Remarkable Architecture"

On the occasion of the Bicentenary of Photography, from September 2026 to September 2027, the Réseau des Maisons de l'Architecture is presenting a travelling photographic exhibition dedicated to buildings holding the Contemporary Remarkable Architecture label, produced in close collaboration with the Ministry of Culture.

Featuring around sixty photographs representing 30 iconic architectural achievements across France, this exhibition invites the public to discover a heritage from the 20th and early 21st centuries that shapes our daily lives yet remains largely unknown.

A photographic perspective on contemporary heritage

The exhibition offers a fresh look at these buildings through the lens of photographers who reveal their qualities within landscapes and everyday uses. It thus fully aligns with the long shared history between architecture and photography, helping to showcase the unique perspective that photographers bring to architecture.

An exhibition designed to travel

Conceived as a travelling exhibition, it will tour the Maisons de l'Architecture across the country between September 2026 and September 2027. Its inauguration will take place from 19 to 21 November, during the Biennale of the Réseau des Maisons de l'Architecture in Poitiers. It will be previewed by the Maisons de l'architecture producing the project (Maison de l'architecture et des paysages CVL and Maison de l'architecture et de la ville PACA) for the National Architecture Days, from 15 to 18 October 2026, in Marseille and Orléans.

Each stop on the tour will be enhanced by a local programme: visits, lectures, meetings or educational workshops will foster a dialogue between the works on display and the architectural realities of each region. A step
