Overview
More than 2,100 films made with AI from 140 countries: the Forum des images hosts the first edition of the We Are Human Festival, a free day on creation and human rights in the age of artificial intelligence.
Artificial intelligence is already in the editing suites, the writing workshops and the newsrooms. It creates images, imitates voices and reshapes archives. The We Are Human Festival puts people at the centre of the conversation: not to be for or against AI, but to examine what we want to preserve, pass on and build.
Its first edition is dedicated to Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: 'All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.' More than 2,100 films from over 140 countries answered the call. Each work is accompanied by an Ethics Notebook, in which its author documents the tools used and the place of the human in the creation.
On the programme, four major conversations bring together researchers, creators, media and tech players:
2.15pm to 3.15pm · Inside the Minds of Machines
3.30pm to 4.30pm · The War of Imaginaries: Media & Narratives
4.45pm to 5.45pm · Creating with the 'Monster'?
6pm to 7pm · Artificial Power: Geopolitics & Human Rights
From 4.45pm to 7pm, the 22 films of the Official Selection, from 20 countries, are screened continuously, free admission.
From 7.30pm to 9.15pm, awards ceremony: Grand Prix, Screenplay Prize and Ethics Prize, awarded by a jury comprising Daniel Khamdamov (ARTE), Déborah Papiernik (Ubisoft), Fatimah Hossaini (visual artist and photographer), Vincent Ravalec (writer, screenwriter and director) and Yacine Aït Kaci (creator of Elyx, United Nations digital ambassador).
