Abd Al Malik

Abd al Malik presents his musical world blending rap, poetry and slam on the stage of Théâtre-Sénart.

Abd al Malik made his name on the music scene from the late 1980s by founding the group New African Poets, before turning to a solo career marked by the release of his first album, Le Face à face des cœurs, in the early 2000s. His style is characterised by a fusion of rap, poetic texts and French song, carrying literary and social themes.

On stage, the artist offers a set in which diction and the force of the lyrics occupy a central place, accompanied by a musical line-up that is either stripped back or leans towards electronic and jazz depending on the project. The concerts put forward a theatrical approach to performance, favouring the delivery of the texts and attentive listening.

This performance at Théâtre-Sénart is aimed at audiences who enjoy socially engaged rap, urban poetry and artistic forms that cross boundaries. The venue offers a space well suited to appreciating this stage proposal, centred on clarity of voice and the presence of the performer.
