AbdelKader Secteur

After three years of triumphs on the stages of Paris, Algiers, Brussels, Montreal and Casablanca, Abdelkader Secteur returns in 2023 with a brand-new show that proves he has lost none of his verve or humour. In this new venture, at the crossroads of storytelling and the one-man show, he tells us, with his extraordinary gift for banter and mockery, about his larger-than-life existence, split between the two shores of the Mediterranean. With an observational eye that is his alone, Abdelkader Secteur describes his hilarious life as an immigrant who has just arrived in Paris. Along the way, Abdelkader Secteur dances with words, juggles with his body, and becomes all the characters of the Commedia dell'Arte single-handedly. If Abdelkader Secteur makes us laugh so much, it is also thanks to his unique way of playing with the Arabic language (more precisely Maghrebi Arabic) and his so singular way of twisting common expressions and reinventing old proverbs. A complete performer, by turns clown and storyteller, Abdelkader Secteur is more than a comedian. He is also the uncle from back home whom it is a joy to meet again at family gatherings.
